Atlanta
ASFIP Foundation was established as a legal entity in the State of Georgia on September 15, 2015, by volunteer members of CFA Society Atlanta. Through the Foundation, Chartered Financial Analysts in Atlanta can become more engaged in the community and enhance others’ quality of life.
Our Mission: To promote the economic stability of young adults in our community by providing foundational knowledge in financial literacy.
Our Strategic Vision: We develop financially confident and curious young adults to make sound financial decisions by harnessing the power of our uniquely qualified volunteers, to deliver educational programs and to partner with mission-aligned non-profits.
Bermuda
The mission of CFA Society Bermuda’s financial literacy initiative is to provide basic information to enable and empower individuals to take control and make informed decisions regarding money and their finances.
Recognizing the importance of providing individuals with basic financial education, we designed a Financial Literacy course to help individuals build practical financial skills, create healthy spending and saving habits and begin to take control of and manage their financial future by understanding how decisions made today can impact their financial future. The goal is to give people the tools to improve their financial well-being by making better and informed decisions about their money. CFA Society Bermuda partnered with the Bermuda College’s Division of Professional & Career Education (PACE) to launch this financial literacy initiative. The existing curriculum is targeted at the general adult population.
Boston
Mission: To close the financial literacy gap by imparting financial knowledge without conflicts of interest, thereby improving the lives of the current and future investing public, the credibility of our industry and ultimately, the stability of our economy.
Description: CFA Society Boston’s Financial Literacy Initiative is a community outreach program designed to consolidate valuable financial literacy content and make it widely available as a resource to the general public. We strike alliances with non-profit groups or employers, leveraging their reach to access a wide variety of audiences, from late high school onward. Since its inception in 2014, the initiative has grown year-over-year in multiple ways: 1) Member Engagement; 2) Active alliances; 3) Number of lives touched.
Pittsburg
CFA Society Pittsburgh has over 500 members of which 95% hold the CFA designation. Additionally, each year we have over 300 candidates pursuing this prestigious designation. The CFA designation is often considered the “gold standard’ in the investment management industry. Our members are frequently the key decision makers at their firms and work in diverse areas of investment management and finance, including institutional portfolio management, investment consulting, plan sponsors, private wealth management, hedge funds, private equity, corporate finance, and academia. We also periodically partner with other local professional organizations, have educational partnerships with universities, and a financial literacy campaign
South America
We are a group of 89 Uruguayan investment professionals committed to promote the highest ethical standards, financial education and professional excellence for the benefit of society.
Our history began in 2001- when a few Uruguayans laid the foundations of what was then CFA Society Argentina & Uruguay. Today, after almost a year of hard work, we announced the formation of our local society, the CFA Society Uruguay.
Wisconsin
Wisconsin Financial Literacy Foundation (Formerly CFASMF) was founded in 2015 to broaden the organization’s prior decade-long effort to support financial literacy in our community and beyond. Historically this was done in conjunction with the CFA Society Milwaukee. We made the decision to rebrand the Foundation as it sole purpose is to fundraise for Financial Literacy in Wisconsin.
Arkansas
We are currently looking for opportunities to increase our efforts in making financial education more accessible in our communities. We are currently thinking through strategy including which populations would most benefit as well as think through the execution (e.g. materials.)
Who we reach: We are still considering and hopefully are able to develop programs for a few different populations. Young students benefit greatly as they have an entire life to allow solid financial decisions compound but there are a number of other populations such as immigrants, low income households and the elderly that could benefit. Granted each of these populations would require tweaks to the material.
Our goal: Still being developed but we want to increase engagement with our communities and make good financial advice and education more accessible.
Beijing
We formed a wealth management committee, and providing quality financial literacy education is one of the goals of the committee. We have identified a few CFA volunteers, each of whom is expert in their respective area, to design and deliver a 14-session program at one of the well-known private schools in Beijing. The program aims to help students grasp basic financial concepts and more importantly, form a healthy financial mindset from a young age.
Who we reach: middle school students to adults
Our goal: Utilizing our society members’ knowledge and real world experience, we strive to become a key resource of financial lieteracy for our community and to improve people’s financial life.
Chile
Create content, written columns that are educational in nature. We have defined a few topics that we think are important to communicate to the local community in plain language and we prepared a short 2-session presentation for adults with disadvantages in financial literacy (how to create familiar cash flow, debt issue and savings)
Who we reach: Financial community and parents of public schools, we have a project to try to target a broader range of people, nonexpert
Our goal: We would like to have an impact in our local market and recognized such a relevant voice in the subject
Cleveland
In the past, we have partnered with Junior Achievement and the Cleveland Metropolitan School District to hold a school take over and teach financial literacy. We paused during COVID and hope to hold the event in the spring of 2024
Who we reach: High School Students
Our goal: We would like to hold bi-yearly events
Colorado
Partner with universities and select non-profit organizations (Junior Achievement and Rock the Street Wall Street) to improve financial literacy through mentorship and educational events directed towards all education levels (elementary school through secondary education), inspiring students to consider a career in finance. We are particularly focused on students of underrepresented backgrounds to increase diversity within the finance industry.
Who we reach: Children and underrepresented groups.
Our goal: To reach a broad group of children and adults who are in need of greater financial and investment literacy.
Columbus
We are working on partnering with organizations such as Junior Achievement of Central Ohio to develop volunteer efforts that revolve around financial literacy, including their “JA Finance Park” and “JA Its My Business” programs, both of which are targeted toward middle school students. Additionally, we have engaged with the Ohio Department of Education in learning more around existing financial literacy initiatives/opportunities and the content assessment that is in development for teachers (applies to educators not in social studies, family and consumer sciences, and business education).
Who we reach: For the currently contemplated volunteer efforts, our target audience is middle school students.
Croatia
CFA Society Croatia launched a successful financial literacy campaign in 2021. The campaign is named mojesutra (my tomorrow) and is focused on raising awareness of the importance of financial literacy which is considered to be at low levels in Croatia.
Who we reach: Everyone aged between 20 and 50.
Our goal: Our long-term financial literacy objectives are 1) increased awareness of the importance of financial education 2) increased knowledge about key segments of financial literacy 3) increase in household investment activity
Cyprus
Our efforts and execution strategy focus on delivering presentations to local High Schools in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Sport. Presentations reach approximately 500-800 students per year.
Participate as panel speakers in various professional forums.
Enhanced media presence during Global Money Week.
Acted as liaisons for the creation of the first mandatory Financial Literacy lesson between a local University and one private school. The 22 hour lesson is now taught at 15 high schools. CFA Charterholders will cover one hour of this lesson to speak to students bringing real life examples in class.
Plan to co host events with local government bodies such as the Central Bank of Cyprus and the Parliament. Together with a local University a) arranging the first mandatory Financial Literacy Lesson (40 weeks) at a private high school and b) getting soft commitments from 15 other high schools to adopt the same course in coming years.
Who we reach: High school students
Our goal: Combat financial literacy. Create allegiances with other Societies regarding Financial Literacy Become a key player on the execution of the national strategy on financial literacy. Expand outreach to other groups who according to a survey have shown low levels in financial literacy.
East Africa
The CFA East Africa is conducting a range webinars and conferences to educate the public on a number of topics, including; saving, investment and capital raising.

East Tennessee
Partner with local high schools to augment classroom activities around Tennessee’s personal finance graduation requirement. Developed presentations around the power of compound interest and your first career – getting off on the right financial footing.
Who we reach: High school students
Our goal: To support and enhance the state’s required personal finance requirement by becoming a resource for high school teachers in our region.
Germany
CFA Society Germany stands as one of the original founding supporters of the Alliance for Economic Education Germany „Bündnis Ökonomische Bildung Deutschland“ (https://boeb.net/), a dedicated initiative working towards the integration of financial education
Who we reach: schoolchildren, trainees, students and young professionals, in addition to decision-makers
Our goal: Enhance financial literacy and foster a clear understanding of financial interconnections among young individuals.
India
We have a separate sub committee spearheading financial literacy efforts & coordinate with self help groups & foundations to create financial awareness on communities
Who we reach: People having no direct access to financial tools & those with low financial literacy levels
Our goal: Our long term objective is to ensure that bulk of our citizens are empowered to make proper financial decisions
Indonesia
We have none so far. Thinking of collaborating with local online education platform (PINTAR) but still undecided on copyright issues.
Who we reach: Women, students and general public
Our goal: Educating Indonesian women to be financially literate. Our efforts will depend on the availability of volunteers and funding.
Iowa
We partner with Junior Achievement of Central Iowa to increase financial literacy with young people in the state and introduce high schoolers to the CFA program. This is done through contributions of both volunteer time and money from the society. We also do outreach to Iowa universities to increase awareness.
Who we reach: Middle to high schoolers & college age
Our goal: To increase awareness of financial responsibility, create interest in the society and increase diversity & inclusion in the financial industry by reaching out to the younger generation.
Kansas City
We’ve partnered with a vendor, SecureFutures to deliver an app based resource for high school students. The app allows them to understand sources of financing, costs associated with university or technical school and then ultimately compare against future income/expense budgeting comparisons.
Who we reach: High school jr/sr or recent graduates.
Our goal: Educate the younger generation on how to pragmatic decisions to avoid unintended long term impairments to their financial situation.
Los Angeles
Our society partners with local financial literacy organizations (California Council for Economic Education & Junior Achievement) providing volunteers and financial support. A portion of the net proceeds of our annual forecast dinner helps support these programs.
Who we reach: High school students
Our goal: Partner with already established financial literacy non-profits in our area providing expertise, mentorship and some financial support.
Malaysia
We continue to value add to the investment industry by having roadshows/webinars with universities, Career Day, IRC and we will also continue on efforts of collaborations with regulators, relevant professional bodies and stakeholders that will enhance the Society’s efforts and execution strategy
Minnesota
Several CFA Minnesota Society members and industry professionals recently launched a financial literacy education program called MNFEI (Minnesota Financial Empowerment Initiative) in partnership with Financial Beginnings, a non-profit organization that teaches individuals how to play an active role in their financial well-being. The group’s mission is to help those in the Minnesota community who seek to improve financial knowledge and economic security and to raise awareness of the importance of financial education for all Minnesotans. MNFEI (pronounced MIN-FAY) provides a platform for passionate volunteers to deliver no-cost, unbiased, and open-sourced financial education programs to those in Minnesota communities and schools, with a special focus on those populations in greatest need.
Who we reach: Underserved communities withing the Minnesota region including diverse lower-income communities, immigrants, and underserved populations.
Our goal: MNFEI’s objectives are: Bring high quality financial literacy education to Minnesota community and schools. Engage many of the local CFA Charterholders, their firms and other interested individuals to volunteer and support MNFEI in various ways. Focus on helping those in the community with the greatest need for financial education, especially those who are underserved and underrepresented.
